In 2022 and 2023 this was all part of a layered process of making some new work – there were also little folded pocket books taken on walks to draw and write in, quick colour impressions added when back home; peace silk organza pieces with botanical prints; stitches on paper; sound field recordings; little clay tiles with prints pressed in from natural objects, small knitted random squares of colours and textures, lino prints, cyanotype photograms
..and then as those years kept turning there were naturally dyed and stitched quilts – larger pieces of work growing from all these little experiments in making and each with a field recording of bird song to accompany it
2024 has been a year where a daily ritual of drawing has been my touchstone, and of drawing attention to small
