in front of me on my walk is sunset

behind me moonrise

the vibrant warmth of colours in sunset drawing me on

the cool calm beauty of moonrise on my return

combining a walking and artistic practice of researching and making

a holding space for documenting through images and scraps of notes – catching ideas, thoughts, little offerings of making…

All part of a layered process of making some new work – there are also little folded pocket books I take on walks to draw and write in, quick colour impressions added when back home; peace silk organza pieces with botanical prints; stitches on paper; sound field recordings; little clay tiles with prints pressed in from natural objects, small knitted random squares of colours and textures, lino prints, cyanotype photograms – maybe more .. so many ideas begin to be pulled through and out in various forms

..and now as the year keeps turning there are naturally dyed and stitched quilts emerging – larger pieces of work growing from all these little experiments in making and each has a field recording of bird song to accompany it

working out how to find new paths, follow familiar paths, glimpse routes through

lets see where it goes…
