Today I like the idea that walking out onto the footpath and breathing deeply, I don’t have a fixed question, a fixed focus. I am noticing, looking, feeling, sensing what might catch my attention. It is light – how the light illuminates colours. How the lemon yellows, the saturate colour highlights demand attention. There were more subtle colours too – light on the seedheads, light on water..
I find the sharp yellows tricky to work with because they automatically demand visual attention – something to think about.
Later in the day, before dusk, I tried out words for the sky colours – soft grey, apricot, a gentle mauve …
